According to “The History of S.E. MO,” by Robert Douglas (1912), George Scoggin was the postmaster and a prominent business man in Glover, MO. He conducted a wholesale market for flour, feed and provisions and was a farmer and stockman of note. Had been postmaster for past 21 years (since 1891).1202
