In the Wilson Co., TN, Court Minute Books, there is an entry on May 7, 1819, when William BABB and his wife, Ruth BABB, sold land in Sampson Co., NC, to Henry HUNT. The land was part of the estate of Leban TAYLOR, deceased, and Ruth was one of the heirs. Laban, James, and Jonathan TAYLOR all appear in the 1784 tax lists of Sampson Co. I am doubly descended from Ruth Ann Taylor Powell BABB (her great-grandson, John Michael POWELL, married her great-granddaughter, Nancy Emmaline WINFORD (a BABB descendant). Henry HUNT and Hardy HUNT married sisters of Ruth.1797
