Long-Time Kellogg City Official Dies of Heart Ailment; Rites Tuesday1158
Kellogg - Ezra (Ed) Antle, 82, life-long resident of this community and Kellogg street commissioner for 22 years, died of a heart ailment at his home here Sunday at 7:00 a.m. He had been in falling health for the past year.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30, Tuesday, in the Kellogg Lutheran church with the Rev. E. M. Mueller, pastor of the church, in charge. Interment will be in Our Silent City cemetery.
Born December 25, 1862, on a farm west of town, Ezra Michael Antle attended Jasper county rural schools and was united in marriage to Laura Smith, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are 3 children; 2 sons, Gelvin of Seattle, King County, Washington, and Arile of Kellogg, and 1 daughter, Mrs. Bert Madeson of Grinnell; also 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Emma Adkins of Marshalltown.
Mr. Antle had been a resident of Kellogg for fifty years.
