Hamon Miller, Sr. (1753 - 1814) was one of the two executors of Godfrey Ridge. Hamon, wife Frances Roberts, and family also came from Halifax County, Virginia. He was one of the wealthiest men in Randolph County and lived on lands adjoining Godfrey Ridge. A grandson of Hamon, namely, Jesse H. Miller, married a granddaughter of Godfrey, Mary Ridge in 1831. James Roberts, one of the witnesses to Godfrey's will, was the brother of Frances Roberts and brother-in-law to Hamon Miller.3233
Haman Miller was involved in a series of lawsuits in Laurens Co SC directed at recovering money from the estate of his deceased father-in-law, William Roberts, over a disagreement about the sale of several negro slaves about 2-30 years prior to this time.
