Ila Jean Dodgen, 74, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008.3595

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Cox-LaGrone Funeral Home Benton Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Mrs. Dodgen was born March 4, 1934, in Plainview to Eugene and Ila Mae Byars. Her family moved when she was 2 to Shamrock, where she grew up. She graduated from Shamrock High School in 1951 and later married Paul Dodgen on July 24, 1982, in Amarillo. Ila worked for the Veterans Administration in Amarillo for four years and also lived in Austin for 12 years while working for the Department of Defense.

Ila was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. She enjoyed all types of crafts and was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan. She was a great cook, loved spending time with her family and was a very loving and thoughtful wife, mother and grandmother. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Mark, in 2000.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Allen Coleman of Albuquerque, N.M.; two stepsons, George Dodgen and Paul Dodgen, both of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Kathleen Carnahan and husband Norman of Spring; 11 granddaughters; eight grandsons; and 11 great grandchildren.

Paul C. Dodgen, 84, of Amarillo died Friday, Oct. 7, 2011.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 Coulter St.

Mr. Dodgen was born Mar. 5, 1927, to George and Elta Mae Dodgen. He was born and raised in Shamrock, graduated from Shamrock High School and served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1950, and worked for many years as an accountant. He married his wife, Ila Jean, in 1980 in Amarillo. Paul loved playing table tennis and competed in the Senior Olympics. He enjoyed fishing in the mountains, spending time with his family and was a big supporter of the Maverick Club.
