OXFORD — Jesse M. Carr, 79, former research agronomist for the U. S. Department of Agriculture and retired superintendent of Oxford Tobacco Research Station, died Tuesday.
Funeral Thursday 3 p. m. from Oxford United Methodist Church.
Survivors: wife, Mrs. VoHammie Pharr Carr; one daughter, Mrs. Robert F. Isley of Tarboro; two sons, Jesse M. Carr Jr. of Kenner, La., and Col. Robert F. Carr of Alexandria, Va.; one sister, Mrs. James Mills of Halifax, Va.; two brothers, Frank F. Carr of Richmond, Va., and William R. Carr of Norfolk, Va.; 10 grandchildren. Arrangements by Gentry, Newell and Vaughan Funeral Home.
