Wilma J. Harris,4018 79, Greencastle, died Saturday. Born in Greencastle, she was the daughter of William and Lucy (Vanhook) Hold.

A lifelong resident of Greencastle, she was a graduate of Greencastle High School and an active member of First Baptist Church, a member of Order of Eastern Star and the Democrat Women's Club.

She married Walter Bryan, who preceded her in death in 1961. Her second husband, Kenneth W. Harris, died in 2001.

Surviving are two sons, Doug Bryan and wife JoAnn, Fillmore, and Alan Bryan and wife Barbara, Greencastle; a daughter, Debra Gause and husband Steve, Ventura, Calif.; stepchildren Doretta Poynter and husband Bill, Greencastle, Larry Harris and Richard Lisner, both of Cincinnati, and Tonya Sears and husband Michael, Greencastle; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services at First Baptist Church, Greencastle, with Rev. Paul Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Kenneth W. Harris,4019 87, Greencastle, died Monday evening at the Putnam County Hospital. He was the son of Wesley and Lucy (Thomas) Harris. He graduated from Knightstown High School in 1931, and received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1935. He had also played on the Purdue baseball team and had been a member of the Livestock Judging Team. He received his master degree from Colorado State. He married Wilma Holt on Nov. 20, 1965. She survives. He had been a county extension agent for Putnam County for 20 years and had worked for the Indiana Department of Natural Resource for 10 years. He had been on the Board of Directors for Parke County REMC for 30 years, the Indiana State Fair Board of Directors for eight years and the president of the State Fair Board of Directors in 1980. He was a precinct committeeman for the Democratic Party, a member of the John Purdue Club, the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity, the Masonic Lodge of Greencastle and the First Baptist Church of Greencastle. In 1980, he was awarded the Sagamore of the Wabash and in 1990 the Honorary Friend of Farmer Award in Putnam County. He also received the Purdue Ag Alumni Association Distinguished Alumni Award. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bernie Harris and wife Jan, Lafayette, and Larry Harris and friend Richard Lisner, Cincinnati; two daughters, Doretta Poynter and husband Bill, and Tonya Sears and husband Mike, both of Greencastle; two stepsons, Doug Bryan and wife Jo Ann, Fillmore, and Alan Bryan and wife Barb, Greencastle; a stepdaughter, Debbie Gause and husband Steve, Ventura, Calif.; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. His parents, three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
