Joseph Samuel Sutton of 211 Crane St, Flat River, Mo. passed away August 2, 1961 at the Bonne Terre HospitaL Mr. Sutton was born in Iron County, Missouri, on December 22, 1872, the son of John and Mary Ann Hart" Sutton.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Sutton and the following children: Helen. Mrs. Howard Maxson of Rivermines, Irene, Mrs. Burette Shannon of Esther, Nadine, Mrs. Leo Berghoefer of St. Louis, and Joe Sutton of Alton Illinois. Also thirteen grandohildren and fourteen great grandchildren and one brother, Marion Sutton of St Louis. Two daughters preceeded him in death, Lillian, in infancy and Mrs. Verna Silsby.
Mr. Sutton was employed with the St. Joseph Lead Co. until his retirement. He was deeply religious and a kind and generous man. His every thought was for his family. He will be sadly missed not only by his loved ones, but by his many friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Alvin Hood Funeral Home. The Rev. Chester Pulliam of the Desloge Methodist Church conducted the services and Miss Sally Appleberry presided at the organ playing his favorite hymns. Six grand sons served as pall bearers. He was laid to rest at Parkview.
