UNION ELECTRIC WORKER DIES IN MISHAP4376

Truman L. DuVall of 305 Third Street in Flat River was fatally injured Saturday evening while working with a Union Electric crew in the Terre Du Lac area west of Bonne Terre.

A spokesman for the company said this morning that DuVall died as the result of coming into contact with a conductor carrying 7,200 volts of power.

Phil Pardon, local Union Electric manager, stated THat the 41-year old worker was with a crew installing a new circuit in the Terre Du Lac area when a cross arm on a utility pole broke. This caused a new conductor to ome into contact with live wires.

DuVall, who was working on the ground, was working with a reel of electric transmission line when the new conductor became energized and sent the 7,200 volts into DuVall.

He was rushed immediately to the Bonne Terre Hospital. Efforts to revive the Flat River man were not successful and he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.

Coroner Ted Boyer of Bonne Terre said this morning that there will be no inquest conducted as the death of DuVall was apparently accidental while on' the job.
