CARTHAGE — Funeral services for James Robert Posey, 68, of Carthage were held at 2 p.m. today In Jimerson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. A.N. Tiller officiating. Burial was in Walton Cemetery.
Mr. Posey died Tuesday, May 28, 1985, in Panola General Hospital.
He was born April 27, 1917, in Karnes County, the son of Isaac and Laura E. Walker Posey. He moved to Carthage in 1946 from Franklin, La. He had retired from R.E. Smith Industries where he was field superintendent and was a member of Ebenezer Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Angelina Posey of Carthage; two sons, Alfred F. Posey of Bossier, La. and Robert A. Posey of Carthage; three daughters, Dona E. Scott of Carthage, Sandra L. Posey and Janice Page, both of Houston; one brother, Marcus L. Posey of Conroe; five sisters, Annie Sparks of Clemville, Edith Mallard of Van Velck, Nuriel Savage of Markham, Beulah Wernley of Bay City and Lorraine Harvey of Houston; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
