1334Vernice Loraine disappeared shortly after Marjorie was born and her daughter spent some time in orphanages and eventually was raised by her aunt.
Vernice had another child who was about 2/3 years younger than Marjorie (private communication from Marjorie Crede on 2 Oct 2010). He was in the same orphanage with Marjorie Loraine from about 1921 until he was taken by an adoptive family in about 1922). Marjorie's half brother may have had adopted surname of Allen.
