Shirt Tail Kin says that Sarah married a Williams.226 However, Frances Lay Heathcock told me that she married a man named Ford and the 1915 obituary of Matilda Huff Green listed survivors including “Mrs. S. Ford of San Antonio”.
In a 1917 letter from Sarah’s sister Frankie Green Dubbs to Mary Lou Scoggin Goff, Frankie wrote:
“Sister Sallie is in the hospital operated on for a tumor, weighed 8 lbs. She had never been sick untill (sic) she had this.” For the full letter, see notes under Mary Francis “Frankie” Green Dubbs.
Sarah died before 27 March 1931 because she was not listed as a surviving sister in the obituary of her sister, Nancy Jane Green Lay.
The Texas Death Index records a death for a Sarah Ford in Bowie Co on 17 Jul 1929 and for a Mrs. Sarah Ford in Camp Co on 31 Jul 1928.7
