My grandmother, Barbara Grant, was married to William Shaw. He came from The Braes of Glenlivet around 5 miles from Tomintoul. It’s an interesting glen housing the Scallen www.scalan.co.uk  where catholic priests were hidden during the reformation.3311

My grandfather died in 1952 ,the year before I was born , and my grandmother did not remarry. I spent a lot of time with her in Tomintoul, all my school holidays and have many happy memories of her. She died in 1972.3311
