Howard Carl Hathcoat, age 84 of Winnetka, IL. Beloved husband of Patt Brandlein Hathcoat and the late Rita M. Hathcoat; peacefully passed away at his home with his loving wife. A devout Catholic, he was born March 9, 1930 in Chicago, IL to the late Mary and Carl Hathcoat. He was the loving father of Karen Alexander, Sharon Niemet, Kimberly (Tom) Shanahan, James Hathcoat, and Mary Kay Hathcoat; dear stepfather of Carole Eifrid, Tom (Linda) Brandlein, Gregg Brandlein, Margaret Brandlein, and James (Cynthia) Brandlein; cherished grandfather of twelve, great grandfather of twelve; fond brother of the late Vivian (Harry) Mattea; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Howard served as an Airborne Ranger in the United States Army during the Korean War in the 7th Ranger Infantry Company and was awarded the Infantry Parachute Badge.
