Leslie James Bacchus4206 MCMINNVILLE - Leslie James Bacchus, 85, 905 Birch St., died Wednesday in Pasco, Wash., where he was visiting.
He was born in Oswego, Kan., and came to this area in 1936. He was a retired painter and a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church here and served on McMinnville City Council's Lay Citizen Advisory Committee.
Surviving are daughters Mrs. Nancy Lingscheit, Pasco, Wash., Mrs. Myra Hoffman, Gaston, and Mrs. Dolores Klatt of Oliver, B.C.; son Leslie, Burbank, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church with Lloyd Herr and Willard Santee officiating. Interment will be at Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan. The casket will be open at Scott's mortuary until 9 a.m. Monday.
Lucinda was the daughter of Rev. Joseph L. Lane and Archibelle Coulter Lane. She was one of 9 children. Married July 23, 1917 in Kansas City, MO. To Leslie James Bacchus. They lived in Kansas City, KS until 1934, then moved to Cottage Grove, OR, then in 1936 moved to McMinnville, OR. She was survied by her husband and 5 children.
