Notes for Jean Faires

These are facts taken from the FAIRES Family papers:
JAMES FAIRES b. Antrim, Ireland immigrated to SC by way of PA. He married JEAN ADAIR. Their daughter was JEAN FAIRES ADAIR who married JOHN ADAIR. JEAN ADAIR had a brother, RICHARD ADAIR who was a lawyer in New Castle, PA (now DE). He paid taxes on some land previously owned by a William Adair. A JAMES ADAIR or a WILLIAM ADAIR is thought to be the father of JEAN ADAIR. I've found information that a RICHARD ADAIR had a relative by the name of SAMUEL. I wondered if JOHN ADAIR could be a nephew or relation of JEAN ADAIR. We don't know where JOHN ADAIR came from. Census records of York Co. SC indicate that he died before 1810. JEAN FAIRES ADAIR was listed as head of household then. JOHN ADAIR was listed in 1800 census. JOHN ADAIR & JEAN FAIRES ADAIR may have had 2 daughters besides their 2 sons. Census records show this possibility but I don't know their names. The FAIRES Family has been a wonderful help to me in my search for JOHN ADAIR. Their papers also indicate that a WILLIAM ADAIR died in New Castle, PA (DE). so we presume but do not know if he was her father or perhaps an uncle. There does seem to be a direct connection to New Castle, PA (DE) with my family line so hopefully someone will be able to help me find if this is true. At this time I do NOT see any connection to these York SC ADAIRS and any other ADAIRS in SC. Mine are the only ones listed in the census of York Co. SC. during this period of time.
