ARTHUR L. ASLINGER

Arthur L. Aslinger, Farmington, died Sep. 18, at Farmington Community Hospital at the age of 82. He was born Feb. 19, 1900 in Bollinger County to the late Joseph and Nancy C. Shrum Aslinger. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Aslinger was retired from St. Joe Minerals Corp.

He is survived by his wife, Irene Aldrich Aslinger of Farmington; four children: Dorothy (Mrs. Glenn) Dalton of Viburnum; Arthur L. (Jack) Aslinger of Fenton; Norma Lee (Mrs. David) Colson of Farmington and Rose Mary Brown of Farmington; a brother, L.E. Aslinger of Patton; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held today at 2 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Allen Ladage officiating. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

If desired, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Irene 'Aldrich" Aslinger, 95, Farmington, died June 9, 1999, at St. Francois Manor, Farmington. Born February 26, 1904, in Elvins, daughter of Homer and Elizabeth 'Gilman' Aldrich. Also preceded by husband, Arthur Levi Aslinger; daughters: Rose Marie Brown, Dorothy Dalton, Lila Lee, in infancy; sisters: Edna Dodwell, Frances Tinker, Virgie McFarland, Lena Russell; brothers: Johnny, Marvin, Harold Aslinger.

Member of Memorial United Methodist Church of Farmington, Memorial United Methodist Quilters, former member of Desloge Garden Club.

Survivors: daughter, Norma Colson; son-in-law, David L. Colson; daughter-in-law, Thelma Aslinger; sister, Helen McFarland; brother-in-law, Othal McFarland, all of Farmington; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation, today, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Taylor Funeral Service, Farmington. Funeral services, Friday, 10:00 a.m., Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, Dr. David Webster officiating. Burial, Woodlawn Cemetery, 1 Aldington. Memorials: Hospice Care, Inc.
