“My name is Jennifer, I'm Matthew's niece and I will pass this message on to him. I was very intrigued by your message as I have been trying to find out the history of my grandmother, Flora McKenzie Mangold. Based on the small amount of information that I've heard, the marriage between my grandmother & grandfather was not approved of by her parents and they became estranged - my dad doesn't really know anything at all about his grandparents (or at least anything he's shared with me). Her brother, Charles, had kept in contact with her apparently, but we really don't know much about him either. My other uncle must have been named for her father as he was James Christopher (went by Chris). Flora passed in 1974 from breast cancer & Chris passed in the 90's I believe (I was very young when it happened, I have it written down at home).”
1966Flora Marie McKenzie was living in San Antonio, attending Our Lady of the Lake University, when she met Hans Frank Mangold.

Notes for Hans Frank “Junior” (Spouse 1)
Name from registrations in the Texas Birth Index.
1Hans Frank Mangold (Aug 1930) - The first and only child of Hans & Ella, “Junior” as he is known by, learned the upholstery craft at an early age from his father. Taking the craft one step further, Junior went on to apprentice his trade in New York under the most exacting conditions as his father did before him. With his roots & heart still firmly planted in San Antonio, Junior returned home to work alongside his father at City Upholstery. In 1955, Junior married Flora McKenzie (1930-1974) and they would go on to have three sons. Again passing the trade on to another generation, Junior taught two of his sons, Johnny & Matthew how to upholster at a very young age. In 1977 he would open his first business with partner George Weatherall called Special Design.; and 6 years later he would take full control of the business and form a corporation under the name Mangold & Mangold Upholstery, Inc. Aside from upholstery, Junior has been an avid tennis player since his teen years and continues to play in tournaments locally.
